Welcome!

This is my WARFORD Genealogy Home page, and includes much of my own primary research into the WARFORD family name.  I belong to the following ancestry lines:

  • The WARFORD branch (likely originally from England) started in the Hunterdon County, NJ and Bucks Co, PA areas around 1742 and migrated through Illinois to the Fort Scott, Bourbon, KS area in the mid 1800s, and then on to the California area, mostly Bakersfield and Los Angeles.  Most of my primary research is on this line.

  • The McGINTY branch is traced back to Ireland as far back as 1640. They migrated to America in the 1700s, and settled in Virginia and the surrounding areas.  By the early 1800s a branch of this family had moved on to Georgia, and then on to Texas by the end of the century.  Terrell, Kaufman County, TX became a major hub for this branch of the family.

  • The LANGSTON branch is traced back to England during the 16th century, and migrated to America by the mid 17th century, settling in the Virginia area.  This part of the line is very well documented in genealogy circles.  The branch that I am descended from eventually settled in Tennessee by the first half of the 1800s, and then on through Arkansas to Oklahoma by the late 1800s, intermarrying with the WARFORD family.

  • The BREEDEN branch is traced back to Maryland in the mid 1700s. They eventually migrate through Virginia and Tenessee to Texas by the late 1800s, intermarrying with the McGINTY family.

  • Other family lines that I also belong to that are documented here include:  BENNETT, CAMP, CHAMBERLAIN, DAVIDSON, DeFORD, HOUSEWORTH, LANIER, LEDBETTER, MANGUM, McELHANEY,  and SHAFER
